James D. Miller
James D. Miller focuses on civil defense litigation including medical malpractice and insurance defense matters.
During his undergraduate education at UC San Diego, Mr. Miller was able to support his college education by working in the hospital setting as an emergency medical technician. After earning a B.A. in Political Science, Mr. Miller graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law and served as a San Diego Law Review member. Directly after graduating, Mr. Miller worked with a prominent, national firm in the tech and finance industry during the tech venture capital and IPO boom. After the tech crash in the early 2000’s, Mr. Miller shifted his focus into business, employment and real estate litigation. Mr. Miller also gained jury trial experience working as a criminal white collar and financial crimes prosecutor and later as a criminal defense attorney, as well as serving as a Fresno City Police Legal Advisor. While operating his own law practice for over nine years, Mr. Miller worked in the federal courts representing companies and individuals in Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies, as well as successfully litigating plaintiff class action civil rights cases. Mr. Miller has over 18 years of legal experience and has also owned and operated several businesses.
